ROYAL ULTRA SKY MARATHON

The Royal Ultra Sky Marathon Gran Paradiso is a skyrunning race with altitudes between 1,476 m and 3,002 m and crossing seven passes. The race takes place in the Gran Paradiso National Park, Italy between Piedmont and the Aosta Valley and in particular, on the southern side, the upper Orco Valley. The start line is from Lake Teleccio in the "Vallone di Piantonetto" and finishes on the banks of Lake Ceresole Reale

The course is mainly on paths, traversing the ancient Royal Hunting Roads of the Gran Paradiso. There are stretches over demanding terrain, including stony ground, and exposed snow-covered sections with steep slopes (during the race the most critical sections are equipped with ropes or chains). The course is identified with red flags with the race logo .

Refreshments and first aid stations and check points are set up along the route (see the following drawings and tables).

The race takes place in the Gran Paradiso National Park across areas of splendid wild nature demanding the utmost respect from the participants.
