SKYRUNNING

Skyrunning was a spark of mankind that illuminated the high mountains. Since ancient times, valley dwellers have loved the challenge of reaching ambitious goals in their mountains, like ascending a summit and descending like lightning down to the valley: here, they were called alpine races. This spirit in the 80’s of XXI century was shared among visionaries, among whom, Marino Giacometti, who re-interpreted this philosophy which spread worldwide, capturing the hearts of those who flew with their feet and minds across the mountains. This represented the birth of skyrunning, the same spirit of the old alpine races, ambitious, fast, reckless, but this time with a vision encompassing all the world’s mountains, and now, with longer distances, extreme - running between earth and sky, at altitude, breathing the air of wild freedom...

The Royal is one of the most authentic interpretations of this discipline in the world of mountaineering and it became a twin of one of the historic Kima Trophy in Val Masino, the emblem of skyrunning in Italy.
